Instant Pot Cookbooks
The Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker Cookbook
Out of the various options this one is, by far, the most popular Instant Pot cookbook. It also has the advantage of being fairly inexpensive, especially for people who buy the digital version. The book itself contains nine main chapters, each of which focuses on a different type of food. As a result, there is no shortage of recipes to choose from, regardless of the meals that you like.
Beyond the recipes, there is also considerable information about the various settings on the Instant Pot, along with cooking times for pressure cooking different types of ingredients.
As for the recipes themselves, they tend to be fairly popular. However, many are somewhat unusual or slightly gourmet, which includes relying on some uncommon ingredients. For many people, that style may be appealing, especially if you get bored with basic dishes. But, others may find the dishes unattractive, especially if you’re cooking for people who want ‘normal’ food.
Paleo Cooking With Your Instant Pot
With this cookbook, the emphasis is on paleo recipes. So, the choice of ingredients will be different than other Instant Pot cookbooks. Because it is paleo, the recipes here also work for anybody on a gluten free or a grain free diet. Many of the recipes also provide direction for using your Instant Pot in new and interesting ways. So, if nothing else, the information be great for inspiration and new ideas.
On a side note, we do want to mention that there is some controversy about the ingredients chosen. In particular, the author does use potatoes, along with some store-bought products. All of these can fit into the paleo diet, although not everybody will agree. However, the book doesn’t offer much insight into paleo itself, so beginners may struggle to follow it effectively.
Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker Cookbook
This cookbook hasn’t received a large amount of sales but that seems to be mostly because it is so new (it was published in April 2017). However, newness aside, the cookbook itself is a powerful resource and offers considerable insight into using the Instant Pot, along with related tools for your kitchen.
The recipes themselves cover a range of different styles and flavors, including seafood, meat and vegetarian mains, along with desserts. But, the biggest appeal is probably that the recipes go beyond the basics. So, there are some interesting flavor combinations present and dishes that would look great when you serve them. This aspect alone is a major advantage because many other Instant Pot cookbooks tend to be simpler overall.
The Ultimate Vegan Cookbook for Your Instant Pot
Most Instant Pot cookbooks strongly emphasize meat-based recipes. But, needless to say, this option is an exception to the rule. Instead, the book acts as a powerful vegan guide, providing directions and recipes for anybody who wants vegan meals in their Instant Pot. At the same time, the information here may be useful for anybody who simply wants more vegetables in their diet.
Instant Pot Obsession
This is another cookbook that offers a considerable range of different types of recipes for the Instant Pot. Like many of the other options on this list, the emphasis here is strongly on the Instant Pot as a pressure cooker. However, there is also information on the other functions that it offers and some of the recipes take these into account.
Overall, this book makes a great way to learn more about your Instant Pot and pressure cooking in general. In particular, the author includes a range of background information and frequently asked questions to help people get the best outcomes. The one limitation is simply that the book doesn’t offer a large range of images. That aspect doesn’t affect the quality of the recipes but can sometimes be a deal breaker.
I Love My Instant Pot Recipe Book
This is another fairly new entry into the Instant Pot cookbook scene. But, with 175 recipes, this cookbook has more to offer than most. The author also provides information about the various settings of the Instant Pot and related tools that you may need. Additionally, there is also a list of which recipes fit into the paleo diet, for people who follow that.
The recipes themselves are well presented and easy to follow, providing all the information that you would need. There are also full color images scattered throughout the book, helping to show what the end results look like. Honestly, the range of recipes alone is a reason to check this book out, as most people would find at least a few options that are worth trying out.
Epic Vegan Instant Pot Cooking
Clearly, this cookbook is designed for people looking for vegan Instant Pot recipes. But, at the same time, it is also fairly unusual in its approach. More than anything, the cookbook stands out because the authors are more down-to-earth than normal. As a consequence, the recipes tend to be easy to follow and use common and simple ingredients. This style also means that the recipes tend to be inexpensive to make and will appeal to a wide range of palates.
For that matter, the simpler nature of the recipes makes this cookbook a great way to learn your Instant Pot and cooking overall. Of course, that style may mean that the book is less useful for experienced cooks, especially as it just has 30 recipes. Still, for beginners, the cookbook is great and is easy to use.
With this list, we’ve intentionally focused on quality Instant Pot cookbooks, which is mostly why the list is short. There are many other similar cookbooks being sold at present but most are extremely poor quality and often have a considerable number of errors. That pattern is an unfortunate side effect of the ability to self-publish on Amazon and the problem is particularly significant when it comes to cookbooks.
The lower quality books out there may still offer inspiration, especially if you’re familiar with tweaking recipes to make them work correctly. Nevertheless, it’s normally best to stick to good cookbooks, which is where this list comes in.
Out of the options presented, the cookbook we recommend most highly is The Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker Cookbook. This option remains the most popular Instant Pot cookbook and it does offer a great introduction for using the device. As is always the case, the recipes here won’t work for everybody but you are still likely to find some good ones along the way.
Finally, the cookbook is fairly inexpensive, even if you’re buying the physical version. As a result, it can be worth picking up for the tips and advice alone, along with the various tables that are useful when cooking with the Instant Pot.
