Two Great Vacuum Sealers For Food From Weston Reviewed

Kitchen tools are powerful ways to get more functionality in your kitchen and increase exactly what you can do and what you are able to make. In the case of vacuum sealers, you gain the ability to preserve food effectively while the tool also plays a key role in sous vide cooking. But, as with any kitchen tool, you face the challenge of picking exactly which item to purchase. With so many brands and models out there, choosing the right product is often no easy feat.

In some ways, vacuum sealers are easier in this sense, as most are relatively simple and don’t have a large number of features. However, that’s not entirely accurate. Even if you just consider the basic edge vacuum sealers, there are a number of different models out there, which vary in price, quality and effectiveness.

To help with this decision, we’re looking at the best models on the market from the brand Weston. Weston doesn’t have as large of a selection as some of the other vacuum sealer brands, however, the company can still be a good choice, especially if you’re a fan of the brand already. The brand does also have the advantage of offering relatively inexpensive bags for vacuum sealing, especially compared to the bags that FoodSaver sells.

If you're looking for some different models and prices ranges, check out our list of high end vacuum sealers , mid range models and budget vacuum sealers.

We've also done more detailed reviews on the very popular FoodSaver vacuum sealers for food, plus VacMaster brand sealers as well.

Weston Pro-2300 Vacuum Sealer

  • Model Number: 65-0201

This is one of the more advanced models that Weston sells and it also receives good reviews. This vacuum sealer has the advantage of being longer than most competing models, which adds extra versatility, especially if you are sealing large bags. The sealing strip also seems to be wider than normal and this makes it easier to get a reliable seal. Another advantage is that this model has an automatic mode and this allows for one-touch use.

Reviews of the item suggest that the vacuum sealer performs well and is quieter than competing brands. The vacuum sealer is semi-commercial in nature and fairly rugged, helping to ensure that it remains effective over a long period of time. However, the product is fairly large and not especially appealing visually, which make be an issue for some people and for smaller kitchens.

Weston Pro-1100 Vacuum Sealer

  • Model Number: 65-0601-W

In many ways, this model is a simpler option from Weston and certainly doesn’t have the same commercial appearance. This model has a strong vacuum and reviews suggest that it is able to consistently vacuum seal bags without issues. The product also has an accessory port, meaning that you can buy accessories that allow other functions, such as the ability to vacuum seal jars.

Overall, the functionality of this and the previous model is similar, although this one does not appear to be as resilient in its construction. That may be an indication that the product is lower quality but despite this, most reviewers appear satisfied with the product and it seems to work well.

Top Pick

Weston might not offer a large range of vacuum sealers but the models that it does offer are still appealing. Of the two, we would recommend the Weston Pro-1100 Vacuum Sealer for most situations. While the Weston Pro-2300 Vacuum Sealer does have the advantage of being sturdier and potentially lasting longer, it is also designed for more intense use than most families will need.

At the same time, it is considerably more expensive, which is likely to make it unsuitable for many situations. Realistically, the cheaper of the two models has more than enough features and functionality to suit most families and to suit sous vide cooking.

There are a lot of nice food processing and saving machines out there. I really like that there are a lot of seamers because that is what I have been getting into. It would really make it easier to keep for longer periods of time.
