Let’s face it, in many areas, vegetarians always have a tough time finding a decent enough selection of dishes at restaurants. That means you need to cook at home a lot. This can lead to the stress of weekly shopping, meal preparation, and even just deciding what to cook.
The best thing is that you can get the vegetarian meals delivered to your door! Prepared meal delivery services bring you already portioned fresh/frozen meals that you can pop in your microwave and oven to enjoy in a matter of minutes.
They are more expensive than shopping and cooking for yourself, but they save you lots of time, and if you count the portions that you eat when cooking for yourself, you can often save money in that department. If you boil 10 potatoes for making mashed potatoes, you might eat 3-4 potatoes! But if you are just given one “portion”, you might consume just one. This type of portion control can also encourage restricting calorie consumption, which could lead to weight loss or easier weight maintenance.
Check out all the services available below that I could find. Know of more? Let us know in the comment section! If you love cooking on the weekends, or just don’t want to pay for ready-made meals, you can check out the vegetarian meal kit services I’ve found as well. They ship the ingredients and and recipe cards, then you make the meal. This makes a really fun date night!
*note: I’m still working on the vegan style services, and will update soon with a link.

- Vegin Out (LA)
The Plated Meal Kit service gives you the option of ordering between two to seven weekly dinners with the additional choice of two chef-inspired meals. It was started in 2012 and delivers meals to 95% of the U.S. You will have to check their website to know if they ship to your area.
They offer a variety of low carb and vegetarian menus. The dinners can either have between two and four servings depending on your needs. The meals service provides food nutrition information to help you keep track of your calorie intake.
The prepped ingredients delivery service will either deliver fresh or frozen food. If you order for the whole week or a couple of days, you will likely get some fresh and some frozen ingredients in the same packaging. What you may not like is the amount of plastic bags that come with the packaging; for a company that responsibly sources their food you expect them to be environmentally-conscious as well.
A dinner serving for two goes for $12, and for the first week, you get a discount with your first order. The three and four serving packages go for $9.95 per plate. However, these costs only apply for subscribers, and if you just want to try out the meal kit service once, you will part with $15 per serving. One downside about the service is that most of their meals use a lot of olive oil, which may not be ideal for low-calorie diets.
The Vegan Garden
Based in San Francisco, The vegan garden is a family business offering strictly vegetarian meals. Their offerings include breakfasts, entrees, desserts, gluten-free options and juices that are ready to eat meals. Your meals arrive in frozen packages, and they ship all over the continental America but do not ship to Alaska and Hawaii.
The Vegan Garden provide an A La Carte, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly plans. Delivery time-frames depend on your zip code, and you may need to contact customer care to know when your package will get to you.
Meals from the vegan garden are healthy and an excellent choice for weight loss. Their smoothies are delicious and nutritious as well. However, if you have soy allergies and do not like the taste of meat, it may not be the best choice for you. Most of their meals have soy-based meat alternatives that taste like meat. Also, not all their products are 100% organic.
The meals service prices their plans at the range of $450 to $580 per month depending on the chosen program. Their Meal packages including the 5-Day feast, Two Week Slim Down Package, and Slim & Trim go for $120 to $295, likewise depending on the specific plan.
The Prepared Meals service joined the healthy food delivery scene more than ten years ago as a catering company. The catering business did not work out, and Sunfare transformed their operations to meal delivery. They have diverse menu offerings including Vegetarian, Weight Loss, Healthy Meals, and Family Dinner options.
Unlike other meals services, Sunfare has a dislike sheet meaning that you only get the meals that you enjoy. They offer monthly plans and weekly A La Carte meal plans. You will have to choose if you will want breakfast, dinner, lunch, and snacks as a package or just single meals.
Sunfare falls on the expensive side with their vegetarian 20-day monthly LA plan priced at $ 1,215. Their vegetarian 28-day LA program costs $1701 per month. The Vegetarian PHX month plans cost $1,118 monthly for their 20-day option and $1,565.20 for their 28-day plan. The minimum amount you can order per day is $24,95. The lowest amount you can spend on a day for three meals and two snacks is $ 73.90. If you decide to forego the snacks, you will pay $58.80.
This meal delivery service caters primarily to weight loss needs. Their portions fall on the smaller side, and their meals are very light. The upside to it, however, is that they ship out every day.
Magic Kitchen is a California-based meals delivery service. They deliver food in a frozen state across the U.S. With this meals service, the cooking-related task you will need to do is warming and serving.
Magic Kitchen caters to the elderly and the public in general. Their meal plan includes the A La Carte menu that features single main course servings, side dishes and soups, desserts, and a variety of healthy meal plans. The food delivery service also has a gifts plan allowing you to send a cooked meal to a loved one. Their diabetic, renal and dialysis-friendly meals are fit for people with special dietary requirements.
You have to make your order based on their meal packages, which means choosing lunch, breakfast, and dinner combinations. It is a challenge because you do not have the option to order single meals, and for their main courses, you have to order two servings on the minimum.
Their pricing ranges from $11 to $12 per meal with seasonal offers and weekly discounts. Depending on your location, their delivery services costs start from $18 and $20. Although their food pricing is fair, it is costly for families or seniors who do not have disposable income.

You have the option of ordering either two meals or three meals per day. The food delivery service has five-day and seven-day packages. For the five-day option, the two meal option will cost you $11.76 per serving plus additional shipping charges. The seven-day plan will cost you $9.20 per meal also exclusive of the shipping costs.
