Wholegrain Pasta with Creamy Beef and Basil

This recipe requires very few ingredients and is ready in an instant. The creamy texture of the tomato sauce makes a perfect pair with the flavored basil.

Ingredients

  • 10 oz beef sirloin
  • 14 oz Tomato Paste
  • 1 Yellow Onion large
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Small Bunch basil leaves
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 10 oz Wholegrain Pasta

Instructions

  • Bring a pot of salty water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions.
  • While the pasta is cooking, chop the onion and slice the garlic.
  • Cut the meat in bite size pieces.
  • Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet.
  • Add the onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until soft.
  • Add the garlic and saute for 1 minute more until fragrant.
  • Add the meat and cook for 1 minute on each side.
  • Stir in the tomato paste and simmer until the meat is cooked through, for 5-6 minutes more.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Remove the skillet from the heat and add the chopped basil leaves. Stir for the flavors to combine.
  • Rinse the pasta under running water.
  • Transfer the pasta on 2 serving plates, add the sauce and garnish with more basil leaves to serve.
