Ice cream is one of the best treats. Not only is it rich, creamy, and completely decadent, but there are also countless styles and flavors to choose from. You can get amazing products from ice cream of the month clubs or even by making your own, but if you’re on holiday, it’s much better to buy local specialties instead. That’s why we’re looking at the best ice cream on the Las Vegas Strip.
Now, the Las Vegas Strip is famous for plenty of things – and ice cream isn’t really one of them. Despite this, there are still some amazing ice cream stores on and around the Las Vegas Strip. You can expect to pay a little more for the ice cream than elsewhere, but that’s true of anything you buy on the Strip. Besides, the frozen treats are certainly worth the price.
Some of these companies, like Cafe Gelato and Luv It Frozen Custard, focus on frozen desserts, so you know that they’re experts when it comes to ice cream. Others offer a wider variety of food, which simply means that there’s something for everyone.
Best Ice Cream On The Las Vegas Strip (By Shop)
Café Gelato
Café Gelato is ideal if you want an entire ice cream experience, where you get to sit down and truly enjoy your ice cream. This is partly because the café itself is located the Bellagio Casino and also because it is well decorated. After all, food always tastes much better when you’re surrounded by beauty (and the Bellagio Casino knows how to make everything look stunning).
The ice cream leans towards the familiar, with flavors like Cappuccino, Dulce De Leche, and Chocolate Mint. However, there are a few unusual options in the mix, along with other frozen treats, like gelato. The balance of familiar to unfamiliar works well, meaning that everyone should find a few treats they love.
The café doesn’t limit itself to frozen desserts either. There are also pastries, cookies, and plenty of hot drinks. The variety is perfect for those family trips where everyone wants something different.
Perhaps the biggest downside is that Café Gelato doesn’t always allow samples, so you need to take a gamble with their ice cream flavors. Still, this isn’t a huge problem as most of their flavors taste amazing. Plus, the lack of samples means that the lines at Café Gelato move quickly, which is a blessing. Who wants to line up all day just to get some ice cream?
That said, the sample policy does seem to change regularly, so things may be different when you visit. You might even find a few new and even more exciting flavors.
Luv It Frozen Custard
Luv It Frozen Custard has a long history. It’s been operating near the Strip since 1973, which is impressive for a district where everything changes constantly.
This isn’t a sit down ice cream store though. Instead, it’s a classic walk up frozen custard stand. Not only are there many flavors to try, there are also a ton of sundaes and shakes. This means you’ll never be bored, even if you come back every day.
The style is definitely old fashioned, which isn’t a bad thing at all. Don’t worry if you’re lactose intolerant, as Luv It also offers dairy free Dole Whip, which is just as delicious as the traditional frozen custard.
Because this is frozen custard, it uses eggs in the recipe and is often served a little warmer than ice cream. Still, the texture and flavor is instantly familiar and this treat tastes just as good as regular ice cream. Some people even prefer frozen custard and go back to stores like Luv It Frozen Custard time and time again.
Secret Creamery
Secret Creamery is one of the most consistently popular ice cream stores on the Las Vegas Strip, which isn’t surprising, as their ice cream tastes truly amazing. What’s more, Secret Creamery is actually a company from Las Vegas, so they have local expertise on their side.
Many of their ice cream flavors are familiar, including Mint Chocolate Chip, Pistachio, Vanilla Bean, and Salted Caramel. But, there are some unusual and exciting entries in the mix too, such as Black Sesame, Blueberry Goat Cheese, and Dragonfruit Mango. Trying these flavors might take some nerve, but they’re likely to be delicious.
Don’t expect to sit down and eat your ice cream in a store though, as Secret Creamery often sells out of a truck instead. Think of them like an adult ice cream truck, one that has exciting and nuanced flavors.
Also, their ice cream is often served in a cone that’s been tipped upside down into a cup. This style gives you all the flavors of an ice cream cone, without the risk of ice cream dribbling down your fingers. That’s a clever idea considering how hot it can be in Los Vegas. Besides, the scoops of ice cream are huge, so it’d be tricky to fit these in a cone anyway.
Secret Creamery offers samples and sometimes even free scoops. The samples allow you to try different flavors before committing to any of them.
Sloan’s
Sloan’s is a South Florida ice cream chain that now ships ice cream across the United States. Their flavor selection is splendid, with their options including Chocolate Cookie Cheesecake, Coffee and Doughnuts (it really contains doughnuts!), Ginger Snappy, and Mixed Berry Stracciatella.
There are also some highly decadent flavors, like Luscious Sloan’s Dark, which includes chocolate ice cream, brownies, nuts (pecans, peanuts, and almonds), toffee and caramel. Luscious Sloan’s White ice cream is similar, except that it features vanilla ice cream instead of chocolate. Those are just a few of their options. There are plenty of others as well.
The Sloan’s store on the Strip offers many of their flavors, with excellent customer service and a fantastic atmosphere. You’ll need to grab and go though, as there’s no seating inside the store and not much outside.
Still, Sloan’s is certainly worth trying. It’s easily the best choice if you enjoy complex ice cream with plenty of ingredients.
Häagen-Dazs
Häagen-Dazs is a famous luxury ice cream brand that you’ll find in many local grocery stores. Their flavors are both familiar and decadent, including examples like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Caramel Cone, Coffee Chocolate Brownie, Coffee, and more.
While Häagen-Dazs ice creams aren’t difficult to find, there’s something special about ordering a scoop from the Häagen-Dazs store itself. If nothing else, this gives you the chance to try different flavors, without needing to order a full pint of each. Plus, because this is a recognizable brand, you know exactly what you’re getting.
This is a store you’ll certainly visit for the ice cream, not the location, as this Häagen-Dazs store is basically a kiosk with a couple of tables. Still, you can easily take your ice cream cone and wander the Strip, enjoying amazing sights and flavors at the same time.
Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop
Ghirardelli is most famous for decadent chocolate, including chocolate blocks, filled squares, and specialty delights. However, their stores also delve into ice creams and can be a seriously luxurious experience.
The store’s focus is certainly on chocolate and even the ice cream sundaes often contain pieces of Ghirardelli chocolate or plenty of chocolate sauce. The emphasis on chocolate isn’t a bad thing at all, as Ghirardelli is clearly an expert in this field and everything comes together extremely well.
What’s more, some of the desserts are seriously impressive. The ice cream is often laden with chocolate, sauce, and cream, creating a truly divine masterpiece.
Don’t expect fast service though, as this is an exceptionally popular store that often has long lines. Thankfully, there’s plenty to see, so if you allow enough time, the wait shouldn’t be too stressful.
Cream Me Ice Creamery
This ice cream company is actually located in the Los Vegas Arts District, but it’s close enough to the Strip to make this list. The store will certainly make you do a double take, as it’s inspired by 1950s-era ice cream parlors, complete with pastel colors and plenty of decorations.
There’s no shortage of delicious store-made flavors to try, but you don’t need to stick with just traditional ice cream. There are also specialty desserts, including some with fun names (Cream Me Ice Creamery loves playing with the double entendre here).
The store even features an impressive banana split challenge – where you can get your $20 banana split for free if you finish it on your own within just 10 minutes. Most people won’t get anywhere near the 10 minute target, as it is a huge banana split, but the experience can still be a blast.
This is a fantastic store if you’re not fond of excessively sweet ice cream. There’s still plenty of sweetness, but the ice cream is also more nuanced and interesting than you might expect.
Cocolini Gelato
Cocolini Gelato is located within the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, giving guests delicious gelato right on their doorstep (although you can find this company in other Las Vegas locations as well). There are a ton of flavors to choose from, including fruity and non-fruit entries.
The gelato is made fresh each day using organic ingredients. So, it always tastes amazing and there’s plenty of chances for flavor variation. Their salted caramel and pistachio are particularly good and well worth trying for yourself.
There’s more than just gelato on offer though. There’s also coffee and even some breakfast foods, just in case you need a change.
While the flavors aren’t quite as stunning as some of the other companies on this list, Cocolini’s selection and convenience makes the gelato well worth trying. You might find yourself coming back here multiple times.
Aubi And Ramsa
This ice cream company is famous for one thing more than anything else – alcoholic ice cream. We’re not talking about an exceptionally high amount of alcohol here, as some in store versions contain just 0.5% alcohol by volume.
While 0.5% won’t make you drunk or even tipsy, the alcohol changes the flavor of the ice cream, giving you an amazingly tasty treat. Other ice creams are higher, getting close to 5% alcohol content.
There are also vegan options on the menu, along with some truly delightful flavors, like Japanese Pearl Drop and Agave Dulce De Leche. The biggest problem is simply finding the store, as it’s out of the way and online directions can be misleading.
Still, if you can’t find the store or aren’t in the right area, you can always order online. Doing so means you’re getting boozy ice cream delivered straight to you. What could be better than that?
