Fried Tilapia Burgers

Ingredients

  • 4 Fillets Tilapia
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 Head Romaine Lettuce
  • 4 Pieces Hamburger Buns
  • Vegetable Oil for frying

For the Batter

  • 1 Cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 Cup Cornmeal
  • 1 12-oz Bottle Dark Ale
  • 1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • A pinch of Cayenne Pepper
  • A pinch of Black Pepper

For the Remoulade

  • 1 Cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 Tablespoon Chopped Capers
  • 1 Teaspoon Chopped Dill
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • Zest of One Lemon

Instructions

  • Season tilapia fillets with salt and pepper.
  • Stir all ingredients for the remoulade in a bowl. Set aside in the refrigerator.
  • Mix all ingredients for the batter in a bowl.
  • Heat oil in the deep fryer.
  • Coat each tilapia fillet in the batter and fry for 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  • Assemble the burgers.
