8 Golden Honey of the Month Clubs

Two jars of honey with a bowl of honey and a wooden dipper

For those who eat honey because of its health benefits or those who just love the golden sweet taste, a honey of the month club is a fantastic way to try a variety of unique raw honey from around the country.

There are several different kinds of honey of the month clubs with varying price points, from around the nation, but the one thing they all have in common is that the honey is never pasteurized.

Regardless of your selection, this type of club allows you to experience a greater variety of honey than you would ever get at a local store. Doing so is well worth the effort, as honey has a rich history and plenty of benefits.

Honey has been enjoyed for centuries, with the first evidence dating back 6,000 BC in Valencia, Spain. However, it wasn’t until the 7th century BC that humans started beekeeping, which was depicted in images on tombs found in lower Egypt.

Honey’s long history can likely be attributed to its many different uses. Plus, honey is the only food that will never spoil, making exceptionally appealing during the time before refrigeration.

In addition to its culinary uses, honey has several health benefits and advantages, such as:

  • Being rich in antioxidants
  • Reducing heart disease risk factors
  • Lowering blood pressure
  • Improving cholesterol
  • Lowering triglycerides
  • Promoting healing of wounds and burns
  • Aiding in cough suppression

However, it is critical to note that not all honey is the same, so it is essential to choose high-quality raw or unpasteurized honey. This is true regardless of whether you’re using honey on its own or included it in a recipe, like fermented garlic honey or honey hot sauce.

Most high volume grocery store honey is pasteurized, which kills off many of the essential nutrients naturally found in honey.

The reason why manufacturers pasteurize honey is to ensure it retains an ideal color and texture, but this process is undesirable if you want the most benefits from your honey.

There’s plenty of honey of the month clubs to choose from, but I really like the Amazing Clubs Honey of the Month Club. With all the small bee farms across the USA with specialty honest made from different kinds of flowers in different climates, it just makes sense to tap into as many options as possible. Amazing Clubs is great at sourcing these unique honeys!

Marina’s love of honey led her to Italy to complete her education as a honey sensory expert.

She was the first US citizen to be welcomed as a member of the “Italian National Register of Experts in the Sensory Analysis of Honey.” Later in 2013, she founded the first American Honey Tasting Society, bringing the Italian based program to the US.
