Who can go past dessert? Seriously. It’s an amazing treat, especially after a heavy meal. However, we all have different needs and preferences, so the best desserts for one person might be a poor match for someone else. In particular, if you’re avoiding eggs or are allergic to them, you will need desserts without eggs.

Finding these desserts can be a little tricky, as eggs are often used to create structure in desserts and to bind ingredients together. Thankfully, there are plenty of egg free choices if you know where to look.

In this list, we’re including a mix of vegan desserts and non-vegan egg free desserts. After all, being a vegan isn’t the only reason for avoiding eggs. Sometimes you might want dairy ingredients like cream cheese and milk, but need to skip the eggs. Or, perhaps you don’t have any eggs in the house.

The traditional recipe does use eggs as part of the pie crust. However, you can easily make an eggless version. There are even entirely vegan recipes, like this one from thebigmansworld.com, which is also gluten free.

This recipe should taste just as good as the traditional banoffee recipe and suits a much wider audience. As such, it should be ideal for serving at a party.   

No Bake Eggless Cookies

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups are easy to make at home, but did you know that you can make Reese’s Eggs as well, without much effort? The most important part is the filling, which involves blending together just a few ingredients.

The exact ingredients and proportions vary depending on the recipe, but you’re often looking at peanut butter, powdered sugar, some butter, and perhaps shortening. Once you have the dough for the filling, you simply need to roll it, shape it, and coat with chocolate.

Speaking of cookies, what about double chocolate fudge cookies? These can be easily made egg free or even entirely vegan friendly. Doing so isn’t even that difficult.

Homemade Fudge Pops

Why buy heavily processed fudgesicles from the store when you can easily make healthier versions at home? I mean, why not? We’re basically just talking about frozen chocolate pudding.

Plus, when you make these at home, you control how sweet and chocolaty they are. You can even make vegan versions by using plant-based milk.

Berry Sorbet

Sorbet is incredibly easy to make and rarely needs eggs. Many recipes just rely on frozen berries and some type of sweetener, like honey or sugar. You might want a little warm water as well, but that’s it.

The ingredients are simply blended together, then poured into a tray and re-frozen. The sorbet just needs 30 minutes to an hour to reach the right firmness for serving.

You’re not limited to berry sorbet either. Other types can be made without eggs too, like lemon or lime sorbet. I’ve even seen some exceptional recipes for pomegranate sorbet, which you could easily prepare at home.

Vegan Chocolate Mousse

Some chocolate mousse recipes do use eggs, but the eggs aren’t as essential as you might expect. Vegan chocolate mousse recipes sometimes use chickpea water, silken tofu, or some other ingredient to mimic the texture that the egg normally provides. 

You can also make avocado chocolate mousse using ingredients like coconut cream, maple syrup, cocoa powder, chocolate, and avocados. The avocados play a huge role in the dessert’s texture, without influencing the flavor much at all.

Cheesecake

Eggs are an important component of cheesecakes, giving them their distinctive texture and richness. Yet, eggs aren’t actually essential.

Plenty of cheesecake recipes still have an amazing texture, without ever using an egg. They rely on egg substitutes instead, like Greek yogurt, cream cheese, or even ricotta cheese.

You can even make vegan versions. Some rely on vegan cream cheese, while others get the texture in a different way.

Of course, that’s just one approach. There are plenty of other ways to make vegan cannoli as well. Most look and taste much like the original, despite all the ingredient substitutions.

Coconut Ice Cream

Coconut ice cream is normally a vegan treat. You can buy it from the store these days or make it at home without too much effort.

Not surprisingly, coconut milk is one of the main ingredients here. You need to use full fat coconut milk from the can, as diluted coconut milk won’t give you the right texture.

You can play around with flavors too, like making salted caramel, peanut butter, or even cookie dough coconut ice cream.

Vegan Apple Pie

While apple pie isn’t egg heavy, many recipes use at least one egg. Vegan apple pies are an easy way around this. These pies are designed to taste just like regular apple pie, but they skip the egg entirely. Honestly, you mightn’t even notice the difference.

Why not serve them with coconut ice cream? This will give you a fully vegan experience that’s still completely delicious.

Baileys Chocolate Pudding

The recipe really does use Baileys Irish Cream as an ingredient, along with milk, sugar, chocolate, and a few other additions. While this isn’t a vegan dessert at all, it would still be perfect for many situations.

Carrot Ginger Ice Pops

These Carrot Ginger Ice Pops are a reminder that desserts don’t need to be excessively sweet to be tasty. There’s still some sweetness though. Most of this comes from strawberries and oranges, although carrot juice is slightly sweet as well.

All in all, these are tasty summer treats that are perfect for anyone watching their sugar intake.

Vegan Salted Chocolate Cream Tart

This dessert recipe comes from rainbowplantlife.com and it’s too good to ignore. The tart uses a no bake brownie as its base, which is then topped with a rich salted chocolate cream.

Yet, despite the richness and amazing flavors, the treat is entirely gluten free and keeps the refined sugar content low. The richness works in your favor too, as you’ll only need a tiny piece to keep you satisfied. 

Coconut Macaroons

Homemade coconut macaroons are surprisingly easy to make. Some recipes only use three or four ingredients.

For example, this one from thebigmansworld.com features shredded coconut, almond flour, coconut milk, and keto maple syrup. If you’re not watching your carbs, you could easily drop the keto maple syrup and use real maple syrup instead.

The macaroons are even better if you give them a chocolate base or drizzle chocolate over them. The chocolate is a perfect contrast to the flavor and texture of the coconut.

Edible Funfetti Cookie Dough

Who hasn’t eaten uncooked cookie dough at least once? Sometimes the dough even tastes better than the finished cookies.

So, why not just make edible cookie dough and be done with it? Most recipes will be free from eggs so they can be safely eaten raw.

There’s a fantastic funfetti version over at sweetestmenu.com. It uses almost all the classic cookie dough ingredients, so the flavor and texture will be instantly familiar.

If funfetti isn’t your style, you could easily tweak the recipe to use your own flavors instead.

No Bake Lemon Slice

How can you go past lemon in desserts? The fruit provides a vibrant flavor and color that is always fantastic.

An easy option is the Australian classic lemon slice. It only uses a handful of ingredients, including the lemon, sweetened condensed milk, coconut, and crushed cookies. It’s a no bake dessert, so it doesn’t take long to make at all.

Vegan Pumpkin Sheet Cake

I found this recipe at jessicainthekitchen.com, although there are other similar ones out there. This would be the perfect fall dessert, as it relies on pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, and many familiar cake ingredients.

Sheet cakes are also much easier to make than full cakes, particularly layered ones. So, why not skip the hard work and try this one out for yourself?

Oreo Ice Cream

Here’s another frozen treat to experiment with – Oreo ice cream. You can make a simple version by combining Oreo cookies with heavy cream, condensed milk, and vanilla extract.

Or, why not use Oreo cookies in the coconut ice cream that we talked about earlier? You could even make your own homemade vegan mock Oreo cookies to put in the ice cream. Doing so would take more work, but you’d have complete control over your ingredients.

Spiced Cashew Coconut Brittle

I love this riff on cashew brittle. It includes most ingredients you’d expect, plus coconut, black pepper, and cinnamon. The cinnamon and black pepper give the brittle a spicy edge.

It’s also a flexible recipe. You can easily remove some of the ingredients and add in your own ones.

Vegan Avocado Ice Cream

What could be better than including avocado in ice cream? After all, avocado is rich and creamy. It’s also a rich source of healthy fats.

There are even fudge recipes to suit most diets, like vegan fudge and keto fudge. I’ve even seen a recipe that’s keto, vegan, and paleo friendly.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Balls

These balls have a peanut butter filling and are dipped in chocolate. They can be as simple as rolling a ball of peanut butter and dipping it.

Using a few extra ingredients makes the treat even better. For example, you can mix in some coconut flour and extra sweetener to create a better texture and flavor balance.

Banana Bread
