My #1 12 oz Beer Club
The US + International Microbrewed Beer Of The Month Club from MonthlyClubs.com was my favorite beer club. After testing more than five clubs, this one provided the best beer, the widest beer selection, and at a reasonable price. I think this would be the best choice for most craft beer enthusiasts who want variety and quality! However, every beer drinker is different, so keep reading to see if this is the right club for you.
Signing Up For Microbrewed Beer of The Month from MontlyClubs.com

MonthlyClubs.com has a lot of different clubs available, but you can find their Microbrewed Beer of the Month Clubs here. There are currently five to choose from, but for this article I’m going to specifically review their US + International Beer of the Month Club. This is a mix of their US Micro Club and their International Club. I thought it would be a good idea to join the US/International mix club first, so I can get a good idea of what’s offered.
However, I discovered that as part of the mixed club, you don’t get all the beers that US Micro gets, and you don’t get all the beers that international gets. You get a selection of each. I was still happy with beers, but will need to join each of the clubs individually at some point to get full insight into what’s offered.
Before you order, you may want to check out their past selections! This list is very easy to access and very easy to figure out. They have a full history of all beers offered for each of the clubs, and it shows on a matrix/chart. This way you can see which club looks more interesting to you before signing up.

Delivery of My Microbrewed Beer of The Month
All the beers showed up on time, and in good condition. I was a little disappointed to figure out that I didn’t get access to all of the beers offered in the US-only microbrew club [LINK], but at least I got to try all that’s offered in the international-only club. That club only features two beer styles, with six of each. This club features four beer styles, with three of each.
Included in each shipment is a pretty extensive writeup on each brewery and the beers included in the package. As someone that likes to know this history behind what I’m drinking, I found this information extremely interesting, and it certainly helped me decide on picking this club as on of my favorites. Part of the fun of drinking craft beer is knowing a bit about the craft that you’re drinking.
Beer Selection & Quality
This is my second favorite club of any beer of the month club I’ve tried so far, only second to the Rare Beer Club, which won’t appeal to all beer drinkers. No other company has matched the variety offered with the US/International mix. You get two US microbreweries, with 3 beers each, plus two international brews, with three beers each. The main reason I joined these subscription services was to get a bit of variety in my beer options. I was not disappointed in what I got.
For my first month, I got beers from Riverhorse (Oatmeal Milk Stout) and Argus (Pegasus IPA ), plus Weinstephaner Festbier and a Tripel. The festbier was not very memorable, but the other three were spectacular. I tend to go for stronger, unique beers, so things like IPAs, stouts, and tripels are styles I really enjoy! (Amber ales, blondes, and American lagers are usually my second choice).
Personal Opinion About The Beer
I was happy with the variety of beer I got, and with the quality of each beer as well. My main complaint about US-Micro only clubs is that they tend to be quite expensive for what you get. But since I was so happy with the choices of my first few months of the beer from MonthlyClubs.com, plus the fact that there’s an international component to it, makes the cost easier to justify.
Including shipping, you’re paying $4 per beer, which isn’t unreasonable for import bottles. It’s a bit pricey for the US selection, but remember you’re paying for curation and shipping as well.
Pros
- Includes both US and international beers
- Best curated beer selection from USA in my opinion
- Reasonably priced
- Ships via UPS so can change times with UPS app
- Can view past beer selections
Cons
- More expensive than US-Only clubs
- Don’t get full access to 4 breweries in US microbrew club from Monthlyclubs.com
Who Is This Club Best For?
Since the Microbrewed Beer of the Month Club is my #1 choice for “12 oz bottle” clubs, I would recommend it for everyone. There are only two reasons you would want to pick another club instead of this one: One, if you want to save money and go with a cheaper club, or if you want US-Only beers.
Though I enjoyed the beers of this club the most, it is $5 more expensive per month compared to the US Micro club offered by MonthlyClubs.com. There is one club from AmazingClubs.com that’s about $10 cheaper, but I haven’t tried that one yet, so can’t say if it’s good or not. All other clubs are about the same price ($43) as the US Micro Club.

Comparison To Other Clubs & Links
- The Original Craft Beer Club ($42/month + Free Shipping)
- Clubs of America: Beer of The Month Club ($42.95/month + Free Shipping)
- Microbrewed Beer of The Month Club ($27.95 per month plus $15 S&H)
- International Beer Club ($37.95 per month plus $15 S&H)
- HopHeads Beer Club ($32.95 per month plus $15 S&H)
- Amazing Clubs ($38.95 /month + Free Shipping)
- Clubs Galore ($49.99/month + Free Shipping)
The US/Int mix club is going to be a bit more expensive than other beer of the month clubs you see. That’s because of the international component. However, you do get six international beers, so that’s really just $0.80 more per beer you’re paying. Then you get access to lesser known breweries and styles like Belgian ales, tripels, British selections, and probably some German gems too.
Of the others on this list that I’ve reviewed so far, Clubs of America ranked pretty well. The Original Craft Beer club was OK, but I found the beer to be boring. I was only a member for three months so can only comment on the brews that I received during that time. It was good stuff, just not as good as the other clubs I tried.
The hop heads club I was super happy with, but I love hoppy beers. I know a lot of people don’t agree with me on that, so I’ll recommend that with some trepidation. I think most average beer drinkers will enjoy the USA club or the USA/International club. If you really don’t like weird craft beers, then the international club is the best bet. They’ll have a lot of lagers from around the globe, which would be more like Heineken style beers, plus some Belgians, and some less-hopped beers.
